School Programs

My school programs may have changed, but the message is still the same.

Cleaning for Health is our goal.

During the past 25 years, I have had the pleasure to work many schools across Missouri and for a number of years ran the Missouri Association of Rural Education Custodial Workshops.  These 2 day sessions were attended by frontline staff, management and superintendents from schools all across Missouri.  With a focus on education was paramount, frontline workers are a task orientated group and there was always time for hands-on training of the issue learned through class work.

ThomKatt Creations has continued this theme as I now bring to bear the certification programs of GCI along with the hands on implementation I have always found dear to my heart.  It is the blending of these two issues which Brent and I continue to push forward the message of the need for better communication to the general public the purpose of our profession.

Through our YouTube videos, our on-line blogs, webinars and personal visit seminars and classes, we will with your help move this message of awareness to the society who unknowingly depends on the efforts of these forgotten individuals.

Each day, 1/3 of communities public grace the doors of a public, private or parochial school facility each day they are in session.  Knowing this, the frontline workers in this profession have the daunting challenge of protecting these people’s health in a positive and proactive way.  It is through their efforts, we keep the life altering health issues at bay, mitigating their ability to dramatically alter our lives.

You can find some of our efforts by visiting this GCI page, an 11 month webinar series in conjunction with the Missouri School Boards Association.

Summer 2009….

The custodial workshop that you held here in Maryville this past summer for our area schools was excellent. We are very thankful for the opportunity to provide all of our custodian’s with the most current and up-to-date information at such a reasonable cost, especially in regards to the green cleaning initiative that Missouri is now requiring. Your hands-on approach, along with your energetic presentations left us all wanting more. I am ready to schedule another workshop for next summer now!

Summer 2010…

The Hayti R-II School District had the privilege of hosting a janitorial workshop for several neighboring districts.  Dave Thompson provided the training and it was excellent.  There were several participants who were skeptic in the beginning, but he quickly won them over with his eye-opening demonstration and his high engagement activities.  This was a wonderful professional development for my custodial staff and plan to send others in the future.
